After an initial discussion between Ruud Bakhuizen, Douwe de Vries and Piet Romein, Ruud decided to ask Winneke Kornet to visit the ‘Learning from the Best’ project in April 2009. Based on Winneke’s report of the visit, FEMI decided to support the project.

The ‘Learning from the Best’ project started earlier on 1 September 2007 and will be completed before 31 December 2011. The work area consists of parts of three districts in the Cuzco province.
